Day 66-68 Apr 8-10 Magnetic Island / Townsville

Rode through some rain to get to Townville in the afternoon. Found out what Blair was talking about when the gloves det wet and my hands got dyed black (see photo). Nice looking town. Took the ferry over to Magnetic Island ($29 for bike, $135 for car). Stayed at Maggie's in Horseshoe Bay. OK, quiet. Went for a couple of Oyster shooters (tomato juice, vodka, lime and an oyster). Went to another town on the Island, Arcadia, for beer's with Sarah (eng), Julia, Monica (swiss) and some locals. Walked around in the pouring rain for 2 hours trying to find the hostel (the story is better in person). My shoes took 4 days to dry.
Stayed a 2nd night to meet up with a friend, Dominic (ger), so we could go snorkeling the next day. It was cloudy, but we managed to see a few fish thanks to this american girl that new where to go. Magnetic Island is typically bone dry for 320 days of the year. Typically...
Stayed Globtrotters in Townsville, not that good and A/C cost $1 for 99 minutes. Went to the top of the mountain in the middle of town with Sarah which was great, but didn't get any photos! Next time.
