Day 33-35 Halls Gap, Victoria

Rode from Adelaide to Halls Gap, over 500 km. Halls Gap is in the heart of the Grampians, but unfortunately the Grampians were recently victim to a major fire started by lightning. 50% of the NP was burnt as you can see in some of the shots. Trees are standing with no vegatation and the shadows in the hills are actually burnt areas. Tim's Place is good and the internet is cheap! $2/hr. Tonnes of Kangaroos here, the park in the photo is right beside the hostel. Kangaroo shit doesn't really stick to your shoe, yeah. The Common Wealth Baton came through town on Day 34 and was as exciting as the Olympic torch. Market here is pricey as it is much like Banff, but smaller (6 mushrooms for $4?). Outstanding ride between Wartook and Halls Gap, it was hard not to look at the scenery too much. The forests are something out of a fantasy/horror movie. Some of the shots are from atop Mt William which was a tough hike; 2km uphill (major gradient). Oh yes and then there is the Big Koala.
